Macon State College is one of two state colleges of the University System of Georgia. Serving the central Georgia region with professionally oriented degree programs, this suburban college offers 13 bachelor's degrees that address the area's workforce needs by preparing students in the important disciplines of business, communications, health and information technology. As a complement to its baccalaureate mission, Macon State also offers 40 quality two-year transfer programs.

Macon State’s School of Education is one of the newest teacher preparation institutions in the University System of Georgia. It is located in the Education Building. The office suite consists of offices and reception space. Classroom space is scheduled in the type of classroom appropriate for the subject. Macon State has an extensive inventory of “smart classrooms,” computer laboratories, tutoring facilities and a newly renovated library that has been outfitted with state-of-the-art technology and vast collection holdings to support the education program.
