Doctorate
Description
The mission of the College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP) is "to achieve excellence by guiding individuals as they develop the proficiency, expertise, and leadership consistent with their professional roles."
Jordan Hall (1977), located on the main campus, houses the College of Education and Health Professions Dean's office, two academic departments (Teacher Education and Counseling, Foundations, and Leadership ), and Graduate Studies. The Frank G. Lumpkin Jr. Center provides additional facilities for programs in Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science. The School of Nursing is housed in Illges Hall, and the Columbus Regional Mathematics Collaborative and Center for Quality Teaching and Learning are located on the third floor of the Cunningham Center for Leadership Development.
The total student enrollment for the COEHP in Fall 2008 was 2,571 with 2,016 undergraduate and 555 graduate students.
Educator preparation programs are housed in the College of Education and Health Professions (COEHP), the College of Letters and Sciences, and the College of the Arts. English as a Second Language (ESOL), French, and Spanish education as well as initial secondary education programs in English, History, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Mathematics are offered through the College of Letters and Sciences. The College of the Arts houses programs in music, art, and theatre education. Other educator preparation programs are housed in the COEHP. In addition to educator preparation programs, the COEHP houses programs in Exercise Science, Instructional Technology, Community Counseling, Health Science, and Nursing.
